Both people open deskvuu.com/app in a browser. One approves the incoming connection, picks a screen or a single window, and the other side is watching. Install the desktop app or the command‑line host when you need full keyboard and mouse control.
The fastest path to seeing someone else's screen is a browser tab on both ends.
Go to deskvuu.com/app in any modern browser. Each side gets a ten-digit Deskvuu ID that stays the same on that device, so there is nothing to download and nothing to configure.
Enter your partner's ID. They see an incoming request and choose Allow or Deny. Unattended machines can be set up with an access password instead, so they answer without anyone sitting there.
Choose an entire display or a single application window. The stream negotiates a direct peer-to-peer path and starts. Switch monitors mid-session whenever you like.
A browser tab can always share its screen and always view someone else's. Remote keyboard and mouse control needs a native app on the machine being controlled — browsers are sandboxed and cannot be typed into from the outside.
Everything speaks the same protocol through the same relay. What you get depends on whether the machine being controlled is a browser or a native runtime.
Zero install on both ends. Share a display or a window; the viewer watches live.
Drive the desktop app from a plain browser tab: mouse, keyboard, clipboard and file transfer.
The browser side can share its screen to the desktop app, but cannot be controlled back.
Native to native, including headless servers and older machines with no desktop app support.
The rule is simple: the side being controlled decides what is possible. Native runtimes can be fully driven. Browsers can share and view, but never be typed into.
One shared session core, three runtimes, no compromise on the part that matters.
Share an entire display or just one application window. Multi-monitor hosts expose every screen, and the viewer can switch between them mid-session.
When the host is a native runtime, input is injected at the OS level — not into a web page. Modifiers, function keys, the numeric keypad and media keys all land correctly.
Copy on one machine, paste on the other. Text moves both directions over the session's data channel without needing the window focused.
Send files straight into the remote session over the same encrypted data channel, chunked and reassembled natively on the receiving end.
Sessions try a direct path using STUN and NAT hole punching, so traffic normally never touches a server. A relay is used only when the network leaves no other option.
Pick a preset to trade resolution and frame rate against bandwidth. Hardware encoding is used where the platform offers it, with software H.264, VP8 and VP9 as fallbacks.
Every device gets a permanent ten-digit ID with a check digit that catches typos. The ID is public routing information; the credential is a private key that never leaves the machine.
Set an access password and the host answers on its own — including at the Windows sign-in screen and the macOS login window, so you can reboot a machine and get back in.
Hosts update themselves from cryptographically signed releases. A small stable loader stays put and swaps the versioned engine underneath it, keeping the previous build available.
Pick the one that fits the machine. They all register with the same relay and speak the same session protocol, so any pair can connect.
Runs in any modern browser, including Safari. Share your screen, view a partner's screen, and drive a native host with full control from a tab.
A native shell around the same interface, plus an OS-level engine for capture, input injection, clipboard and file transfer. Can be viewed and controlled.
A single native binary with no window and no web view. Built for servers, kiosks and machines too old to run a modern browser engine.
The command-line host is built as a separate target specifically so it can run where a modern web view cannot: classic Windows capture and input APIs for Windows 7 through 8.1, and CoreGraphics capture on Intel macOS Catalina. It supports the same remote control, clipboard and file transfer as the desktop app.
Remote access software earns trust by being boring about permission. Deskvuu gates every inbound session in the signalling layer, before a peer connection exists and before the screen is touched.
Each device holds a private signing key that never leaves the machine and proves itself by signing a fresh challenge. The relay hands back a signed certificate so the device keeps the same ID over time — without the relay storing any secret of yours.
Knowing someone's Deskvuu ID gets you nowhere. It is routing information only. Every session has to be authorised before a connection is even negotiated, let alone before anything is captured.
The host either shows an Allow/Deny prompt or checks an access password using a challenge and response. Your password is never sent over the wire, and the host stores only a verifier, never the password itself.
Media and data ride an encrypted WebRTC connection negotiated straight between the two machines. When a direct path is possible, no server sits in the middle of your screen.
Share one window instead of a whole desktop when that is all that is needed. Sessions end when you close them, and the host clears its session state.
No trial countdown, no locked features, no card. Paid plans arrive when version 1.0 does.
Deskvuu is pre‑1.0. Everything below the Free plan is what you get today, including unattended access and the native hosts. The Professional and Enterprise tiers describe where paid plans will land at 1.0 — nothing is being withheld from Free in the meantime.
